AA004 - October 2011 - Fourth Mission to Les Cayes and Surrounding Areas, Haiti

Areas of Operation: Les Cayes, Haiti - L'HOpital Immaculee Conception, Gigot Village in the mountains north of Les Cayes, and to Caille Coq Village on Ile a Vache, 7 miles SE off the coast of Les Cayes.

Objectives: Clinical Team insertion (3 Physicians, 1 RN) for providing care and support for a clinic in the mountain village of Gigot and the island village of Caille Coq on Ile a Vache. Delivery of the very first cardiac monitor/defibrillators with onsite training to L'Hopital Immaculee Conception along with nebulizer equipment and medications. Assessment of training locations for the 2012 basic EMS/First Responder course program for rural community members to help provide basic stabilization skills for acute injury management and other emergencies. Established a relationship of support and collaboration with Haitian physicians who work to serve the rural poor in mountain villages north of Les Cayes.
